Grape Mourvèdre 90%, Grenache 10%.
Ageing Aged 19 months in 20 hl foudres.
Harvest Hand-harvested.
Ageing potential Ageing potential of 15 years.

2021 vintage.

A spring with very little rain, resulting in few treatments.

Very cool nights, with ripening taking a long time. Since the grapes were in perfect health, we were able to wait. A later harvest than in the last 10 years, similar to the early 2000s.

High acidity, dense yet very refined tannins, and perfect balance.

A great vintage, comparable to 2000 and 2005.

JEB DUNNUCK

"Contrechamps is a sought-after cuvée, vinified with nuance and delicacy, Mourvèdre-dominant and completed by Syrah, Cinsault, and Grenache. What I appreciate in this 2018 Bandol Contrechamps is its purple color and elegant notes of musk and sumac, then a very long, full, caressing texture. The aging imparts real class and subtlety, and the wine can be cellared for 10-15 years. Best from 2026-2033."
