The nose reveals the southern character of the vintage, with notes of licorice, black plum, pepper, and cocoa.
The palate confirms this Mediterranean character with dense, smooth tannins balanced by lovely acidity. The finish features black fruits, zan, black olives, and Kampot pepper. A well-rounded, Mediterranean wine.

What the critics say

WINE ADVOCATE

"The 2019 Bandol from La Bastide Blanche has an aromatic, elegant bouquet boasting a Mourvèdre-driven set of aromas with hints of tobacco, spices, wild berries and anise. Full-bodied, it features perfectly ripe tannins and stunning delineation. The palate exhibits a fleshy texture, length, depth and a peppery, spicy finish - a great effort. Drink Date: 2023 – 2039"

WINE ENTHUSIAST

"This is an opulent, rich wine that is full of black plums, powerful tannins and spice. Mourvèdre dominates the palate with its power and exotic aroma, but bright acidity guides a long finish. Still young, it needs several years to develop, so drink from 2016."

JEB DUNNUCK

"This 2010 Bandol needed time to gain complexity and length, and it reveals itself fully today, with fine smoky and toasted accents of real intensity. The texture is ample, full, and layered, with chocolate notes, candied fruit, and the sense of plenitude that Bandol can achieve. It is a finely made wine with long-haul potential. Drink now-2060."
